Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy died and three other people were wounded.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
